In the US, Best Buy is selling Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 8 LTE with 2 years of free cellular service from Google Fi.
This is similar to what the Google Store offers when buying a Pixel Watch 3. Best Buy purchases of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Series LTE and Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) LTE come with “two years of data and texting powered by Google Fi Wireless.”
You get 500 MB of high-speed data per month, and 500 MB at 256 Kbps after that. Google notes how “data usage is capped at 1 GB per month,” while “roaming outside the US isn’t supported.”

Texting makes use of your “current phone number and phone’s carrier” via Google or Samsung Messages. Data is leveraged: “To send and receive texts on your watch, you need to have texting service from your primary carrier on your phone. Make sure your phone is on and connected to the internet.”
Phone calls via this Google Fi promotion are not supported.
The Best Buy landing page emphasizes how data can be used to “respond to your phone notifications,” stream music/podcasts, and location sharing.
After purchasing from Best Buy (gifting is supported), the set-up process is done through the Galaxy Wearable app and involves a redemption email from Google Fi. Full instructions are available here.
You have until September 30, 2026 to redeem the free Google Fi service.
