Gemini app rolling out Google Home Broadcast support

The Gemini app is getting the ability to Broadcast messages to your Nest speakers and smart displays using the Google Home integration. This is rolling out now.

As previewed last month, this comes ahead of Google Assistant being replaced on Android later this year. Make sure you’ve enabled “Google Home” in the Apps list (open the top-right profile menu).

  1. On your phone or tablet, open the Gemini mobile app.
  2. Ask the Gemini mobile app to broadcast a message.
  3. If you haven’t connected Google Home to Gemini Apps, you’ll get the option to connect it.

Afterwards, you can just say:

  • Broadcast a message.
  • Broadcast I’m on my way home.
  • Broadcast to the living room, it’s time for homework.
  • Find a recipe for gazpacho and broadcast it on the kitchen display.

Gemini will handle the request directly instead of relying on Google Assistant. Like before, you can Broadcast to a specific device, a room, or your entire home.
