Samsung’s Galaxy Buds controls are relocating in One UI

A new update to the Galaxy Wearable app is streamlining Galaxy Buds settings for users. The change means the ANC and touch controls will no longer be in the standalone app.

The latest update to the Galaxy Wearable app (2.2.63.25060561) changes a few key Galaxy Buds settings locations, including ANC controls, touch configuration, and firmware updates (via SammyGuru). These options were previously found in the Wearable app, but they’re now moved to the main One UI settings page.

The Bluetooth settings page will now house control options for the Galaxy Buds. Users can adjust the touch controls, change ANC status, and check for updates.

The Galaxy Wearable app will no longer display Galaxy Buds settings. Instead, it seems the app will only be used for making adjustments to connected Galaxy Watch devices.

Samsung is essentially doing what Google did for the Pixel Buds lineup. The settings for those earbuds are found in the settings on Pixel phones, making it much easier to adjust settings on the fly. On other devices, the Pixel Buds app is needed. It’ll likely be similar for Galaxy devices, where other phones may still need to connect via the Wearable app.

The change also means sound EQ will be in the One UI settings app. This also makes room for Quick Settings toggles to house specific controls for Samsung’s earbuds, though it’s unclear what design changes Samsung has in store for Galaxy Buds settings.

The update to the Galaxy Wearable app is available now, and the change seems to affect all Galaxy Buds models.
