While Samsung is on the verge of overhauling its foldables at its upcoming Unpacked event next month, based on these initial leaked renders, the same can’t be said for the next entry in its budget flagship FE series.
OnLeaks and SammyGuru have our first look at renders for the Galaxy S25 FE, but you’d be forgiven for thinking these devices are any other smartphone in Samsung’s current lineup. With a triple lens camera array, flat edges paired with rounded corners, and a large 6.7-inch AMOLED display, you could pretty easily mistake this for the Galaxy S25+, S24+, or even last year’s Galaxy S24 FE.
So what is new? According to SammyGuru‘s report, the S25 FE has a pretty significantly slimmer chassis compared to its predecessor. In my relatively limited time with the S24 FE, I found it to feel pretty chunky in the hand, thanks to its relatively large bezels and 8mm frame. For this year’s release, Samsung’s allegedly slimmed the phone down to 7.4mm. That’s just a tenth of a millimeter bulkier than the S25+, which means this phone — despite its lower expected price — should feel better in the hand.
In fact, its entire dimensions point to a slightly smaller device overall. At 161.4 x 76.6 x 7.4mm, it’s tough to say the S25 FE will be slim, but compared to the Galaxy S24 FE’s 162 x 77.3 x 8mm frame with an identically sized screen, it sounds like Samsung might’ve learned the right lessons from last year’s release. Slimmer bezels help make the phone feel that much more manageable, although these renders still seem to show a larger display chin that screams ‘budget.’
This early on in the S25 FE’s leak cycle, there’s not much more to go off of, save for the potential of a brighter display and the same 12MP front-facing camera found on other S25 devices. We’ve previously heard that Samsung isn’t planning on upgrading its predecessor’s telephoto lens, but otherwise, your guesses remain as good as ours.
It’s unlikely to be 2025’s most exciting phone launch, but if Samsung hits the right price point — and the right post-launch deals as we roll into the holiday season — the Galaxy S25 FE could be a pretty appealing device when it arrives later this year. Just don’t be surprised when it looks exactly how you’d expect.
