Small Android tablet fans rejoice, a new 9-inch tablet with an OLED display is launching next month on the global market in the Redmagic Astra, which has just debuted in China with an impressive spec sheet.
The Redmagic Astra Gaming Tablet is launching on July 1 to the global market, but it’s already available in China as the Redmagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro. This device is noteworthy mainly because it packs powerful specs along with a 9.06-inch OLED display.
That display is what makes it really stand out. Lenovo has already delivered a compact-yet-powerful Android tablet in its Legion Tab series, but Redmagic is really taking things up a notch by addressing an area Lenovo was lacking in.
The 9.06-inch OLED display boasts 2400×1504 resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio that should be ideal for games and media consumption, as well as a 165Hz refresh rate. It runs Android 15 out of the box, is powered by an 8,200 mAh battery, and features a powerful spec package. Snapdragon 8 Elite runs the show with 12GB or 16GB of RAM, and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage, though without a microSD card slot. That storage is UFS 4.1, though, and the tablet also features 80W charging and “dynamic RGB lighting” on its back.

In images shared with NewGeekGuide and other members of the media, Redmagic also directly confirmed that, yes, this tablet has a fingerprint sensor, unlike many of its competitors.

Redmagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro is available starting today in China with an entry price of ¥3,999, and both “Eclipse Black” and “Starfrost Silver” color variants are available.
Redmagic has already confirmed that this tablet will expand to the global market as “Astra” in just a few weeks, with a July 1 launch. The brand’s international site reiterates the display size, use of Snapdragon 8 Elite, and more, but there’s no word yet on pricing. The price in China directly converts to around $550 USD.
