Following its debut in beta last month, Google is now rolling out the Android Auto 14.4 update more widely, but don’t expect much from it.
Google’s schedule for rolling out Android Auto updates isn’t exciting, but it is rather predictable. Following the release of Android Auto 14.4 via the beta track in May, the company is now rolling out the update via its stable track to more users. The initial but limited stable release took place in late May, with a wider rollout now taking place.
The update doesn’t contain much in terms of new versions. As a part of our APK Insight series, we dug into the update, but found no notable changes from the prior version outside of Google renaming references to “Find My Device” to the updated “Find Hub” branding, but these aren’t even user-facing.
As per usual, Android Auto 14.4 is likely addressing niche bugs that affect the experience on certain devices and certain vehicles. Beyond that, there’s often prep on new Android Auto features. Upcoming features include Gemini and a light theme, but this update in particular doesn’t enable any of that.

Currently, Android Auto 14.5 is available via the beta track, but it similarly has no notable changes.
