Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2 tweaks the brightness and volume sliders

Besides Connected displays support, Beta 2 of Android 16 QPR1 is focussed on refining Material 3 Expressive, including the volume and brightness sliders.

In the case of the volume slider, the music note icon has been moved from the bottom to the top.

The full volume panel gets a similar treatment, with icons moving from the left to right side. More broadly, the Sound & vibration in Settings now makes use of the Material 3 Expressive sliders, with icons at the right. It’s a big difference compared to the thin line and dot design, while the new page organization is a huge improvement.

Another place Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2 makes this change is in the Quick Settings brightness slider. For most people that don’t keep the intensity at 100% all the time, the sun icon will now be displayed against a dark background, which does make it stand out more.
