Nothing Phone (3) officially launches July 1, teaser hints at dot matrix lights

Nothing has confirmed that its next smartphone, Nothing Phone (3), will see a launch date of July 1, while teasing some changes to the lights on its back.

In a brief video posted to Twitter/X, Nothing confirms that Phone (3) will be launching on July 1. Specifically, it will be unveiled at 18:00 BST or 1pm ET/10am PT.

The video doesn’t show the device itself, but shows some dot matrix-style lights flashing in a pattern. This lines up with the new design language in Nothing OS, but it also seems to hint at new lights on the back of Phone (3). Nothing said last week that it “killed” the Glyph Interface used on its previous phones, and this is seemingly the replacement.

The pattern itself suggests that, if Phone (3) does have a dot matrix lighting array on its back, it’s probably rectangular or in a semi-elliptical shape.

On its website, Nothing has opened up a new sign-up form for updates on the launch of Phone (3). The device is expected to cost $799 per recent leaks.
