
Adobe has officially released the new Photoshop mobile app for Android users after promising it in February. The mobile version of Photoshop offers many features that were free during the initial beta period.
Adobe has been working on this overhaul for a while. With the introduction of the Firefly engine for generative AI, the creative suite has been dishing out feature after feature.
With the new Photoshop app for Android, users can get access to a lot of Adobe’s new tools in a mobile format that is often overlooked in the creative space. All of the app’s features will be free during the initial beta period. Adobe lists out some of those key functions in its press release:
- Combine and blend images using core Photoshop tools like selections, layers, and masks
- Quickly remove or replace parts of an image with the intuitive Tap Select tool
- Brush away distractions in seconds using tools like the Spot Healing Brush
- Use Firefly-powered generative AI features like Generative Fill to effortlessly add or transform elements in
visual designs- Enhance creative work with a growing library of free Adobe Stock assets
- Make accurate selections with Object Select and Magic Wand
- Refine images with advanced tools like Remove and Clone Stamp
- Control layers and effects with advanced blend modes and adjustment layers
The new app will be filled with tutorials for a lot of these new features. That includes some of the generative AI functions that Firefly makes possible.
It’s not clear how long the beta period will last, and how much a subscription might cost after that period is over. The Photoshop (Beta) app is available for devices running Android 11 and later.
