Honor 400 series will get six years of Android updates

Honor is gearing up to announce the Honor 400 lineup and has noted that the series will get a full 6 years of Android updates, including Google’s upcoming Android 16.

We’re waiting to see a lot from Honor in 2025, including the Magic V5. That foldable could bring a thinner body than the previous version, which already sets records among other folding phones in the industry. The Honor 400 won’t be as bendy, but it will offer a much-needed guaranteed lifespan.

According to Honor, the Honor 400 will get six full years of Android updates. The phone will launch with Android 15, meaning Android 21 will be the last version it gets support for. This is among the longer lifespans seen right now, with Samsung offering seven years of Android updates and security support.

Honor also noted that the Honor 400 series will be early to get Android 16 when it becomes available, with Android 16 beta 3 already available for the Magic 7 Pro. The Honor 400, Magic V3, and Magic 7 Pro are all said to get Android 16 in 2025, which is good to see from the manufacturer.

Android 16 QPR1 launched yesterday, offering a ton of UI changes for Pixel devices. It will be interesting to see how OEMs handle Material 3 Expressive and some of Google’s UI design choices for its own Pixel lineup. In any case, Honor says the software will be made available before the end of the year.
