Samsung teases new ‘innovative design’ for Galaxy Watch and more foldables

As a part of its Q1 2025 earnings call, Samsung is teasing potentially big changes for Galaxy Watch while also hinting at new earbuds, foldable improvements, Galaxy Tab S11, and more.

Samsung’s kickoff to 2025 has been a record-setter thanks in part to “strong” Galaxy S25 sales. As a part of its earnings call (transcribed by SeekingAlpha, h/t SammyGuru), Samsung called the launch “successful.”

But more interesting were the company’s hints towards the future of its mobile lineup.

That starts with a hint at foldable improvements. Samsung says it is “enhancing the performance, design and durability” of its new foldables coming this year, referring to Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. The company adds that it is looking to expand to a more “affordable customer base,” hinting at the rumored Galaxy Z Flip FE (or Xe).

Looking across the MX division for our upcoming new foldable devices, we are enhancing the performance, design and durability while also optimizing AI functionality to offer a differentiated user experience. We plan to strengthen our product lineup in order to create new demand and expand our affordable customer base.

Samsung is also rumored to reveal, though potentially not yet release a “tri-fold” device later this year. The budget Flip device is expected to launch later in the year after the flagship launches.

Meanwhile, it sounds like Samsung has plans to introduce a Galaxy Watch redesign this year. The company says “an innovative design” will launch with “a new Galaxy Watch,” though it’s pretty vague as to what might be changing. This could be referring to a new physical design, or simply a software revamp. We’ll have to wait and see for more.

For wearables, we will expand our market presence with a strengthened premium experience while expanding our lineup across all price segments. We plan to launch a new Galaxy Watch with an innovative design and enhanced health-related features.

Also mentioned is “a new entry-level model” of Samsung’s earbuds, suggesting the Galaxy Buds FE may get a sequel.

There’s a mention of Samsung’s Android XR headset, but the only new product mentioned by name is the Galaxy Tab S11 series, which Samsung says will launch in “the latter half of the year.” The Galaxy Tab S10 series launched a couple of months after Samsung’s July unveiling of Fold 6 and Flip 6. It stands to reason the same model will apply this year, as the company’s rumored July launch event would be overflowing with hardware announcements.

In tablets, we will drive premium revenue growth by launching the AI-enhanced TAB S11 series in the latter half of the year and strengthening targeted marketing across the Tab S line to capture new demand.
