Pixel Watch, Wear OS add Find My Phone confirmation before ringing

In a nice quality-of-life improvement for the Pixel Watch and Wear OS, Google has introduced an extra step before the Find My Phone ring activates.

Previously, swiping down for Quick Settings and tapping the Find My Phone tile, which is initially centered at the top edge of the screen, would immediately start ringing your mobile device.

Google has recently introduced a new “Ring phone?” screen that makes you tap the right checkmark before a loud sound plays. Tap ‘x’ to close and return to your watch face.

This is nice for those that have accidentally activated the loud ringer after pressing the wrong button in Quick Settings.

We’re seeing the “Ring phone?” step on all three generations of Pixel Watch running Wear OS 5.1. This is a somewhat recent addition (if my memory of accidentally activating the phone ringer in early 2025 serves me right).

There’s one report of this extra step also being on other Wear OS devices. If so, Google likely rolled it out through Play services.
