Google TV Freeplay adds several more new channels including 24/7 Baby Shark

Google TV has updated its Freeplay catalog again, this time adding several more new channels including kids-focused content, one of which is a channel that streams Baby Shark content 24/7.

Google has been building out a collection of free channels as a part of its “Freeplay” catalog for a couple of years now, with over 170 channels available today. Over the past few weeks, NewGeekGuide has tracked the addition of nine new channels on Google TV Freeplay.

The new channels vary by topic, with the clear focus being on kids content. Six new channels deliver content for children, including Teletubbies, various Sonic The Hedgehog shows, and a generic Free Kids TV channel. Another notable addition is a Baby Shark TV channel, which streams content based on the viral internet sensation constantly – that seems fun for parents.

Some of these channels have been advertised on Google TV’s “For You” tab, including a Hot Ones channel provided by Filmrise which streams episodes of the hit show that started on YouTube.

The list of the latest new channels on Google TV Freeplay includes:

  • Filmrise: The New Detectives
  • Women Behind Bars
  • Filmrise: Hot Ones
  • Baby Shark TV
  • Sonic The Hedgehog
  • Teletubbies
  • Strawberry Shortcake
  • Rainbow Rangers
  • Xumo Free Kids TV

These channels are available now, and brought the total number of channels on Freeplay up to 174. Some channels were also quietly removed, though with a couple of separate shuffles to the library in recent weeks, we weren’t able to confirm exactly which ones were removed.
