Android 16 Beta 4 rolling out for Pixel

Google is rolling out Android 16 Beta 4 today to Pixel devices as the first release candidate build ahead of the consumer launch. It’s available now as an on-device OTA, with factory images not yet live.

Beta 4 is “the last scheduled update in our Android 16 beta program.” Meanwhile, the Android 16 Beta is “now available on handset, tablet, and foldable form factors from partners including Honor, iQOO, Lenovo, OnePlus, OPPO, Realme, vivo, and Xiaomi.”


Resolved developer- and user-reported issues

  • Fixed issue that caused the radar map to disappear in the Pixel weather app. (Issue# 407282089)
  • Fixed issues that impacted haptic performance and delayed feedback (Issues # 400455826398829454)
  • Fixed issue that caused excessive power drain on some devices (Issue # 395519809)
  • Fixed issue that caused a system restart when a call was answered in some situations (Issue # 402639338)
  • Fixed issue that caused restart when screen magnification is enabled (Issue # 408330740)
  • Fixed issue where screen saver did not start (Issue # 398963286)
  • Fixed issue where phone restarted when ranging API used (Issue # 406577030)

Android 16 Beta 4 (BP22.250325.007) system images with the April 2025 security patch will be available for the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel Pro Fold, and Pixel 9a, as well as the Android Emulator.
