One UI 7 is making custom alarms even better with individual volume controls

Android alarms improved greatly when OEMs made customization easier, such as adding a unique tone or scheduling them out. In One UI 7, Samsung now allows users to set specific volumes for each alarm by tweaking the settings.

One UI’s Clock app has proven to be a rather good sleeping assistant in the past. The app offers finite customization for a lot of details, including how many times you can hit the snooze before your phone gives up. Over time, different versions of One UI have added these small features, and another one is in the pipeline.

Spotted by SamMobile, One UI 7 now allows users to set varying volumes for each alarm. It comes in the form of a toggle in the settings, and each alarm thereafter will offer a volume slider on the alarm sound page. With that, each and every alarm can carry a different volume. This might be useful if you need a gentle alarm on weekends but a violent one on weekdays.

This new feature can be found in the Clock app > settings > volume. Toggling it on will generate a volume slider on each alarm page.

The consequence of doing this means your volume rocker will no longer be able to control alarm volume. Without the new feature turned on, general alarm volume could be manipulated with ease. Now, it has to be much more intentional.

The alarm volume feature looks to be available to users with One UI 7, which now covers a few different devices. Users in beta may still access the function, and those saved settings will carry over when One UI 7 is available for your devices.
