Samsung stops One UI 7 rollout globally

After six beta releases and more time in the oven than expected, Samsung has stopped the One UI 7.0 rollout globally.

Samsung tipster @UniverseIce reported on Twitter that a “serious bug was found” in the update for Korean S24 series devices. This has led to the “suspension” of the One UI 7 rollout in all countries, including China. This comes just a few days after the initial rollout of the Android 15 update for Samsung phones.

The delayed One UI 7 rollout for non-S25 units began on April 10, but over the weekend, it appears that this expanded release has slowed to a crawl. According to reports on the Korean Samsung forums (h/t Android Authority), the issues could be related specifically to Galaxy S24 devices that utilize the Exynos 2400 processor. Some are suggesting that the OTA files have been removed completely, which hints that this is a bigger problem than anticipated.

One frustrating aspect is that while the initial reports suggest the problem was limited to certain Exynos models, Snapdragon models are being treated equally. Another Twitter tipster spotted US models of the Galaxy S24, Z Fold, and Z Flip 6 have had their One UI 7 rollouts paused as OTAs have been pulled from Samsung’s servers.

We’re not entirely sure how this affects devices that have already been updated in the first wave of the One UI 7 rollout. If you encounter problems, we expect another OTA will be available to all in the coming days that provides hotfixes for any experience-breaking issues. Let us know if you have seen or heard of problems since updating to the Android 15 on your Samsung phone down in the comments section below.
