Galaxy S25 Edge delay may be due to a ‘technical’ issue as pricing leaks

It was revealed this week that Samsung’s upcoming ultra-thin smartphone, the Galaxy S25 Edge, has been hit with a considerable delay, and now a new report hints that it could be a bigger problem than initially thought.

WinFuture cites “sources close to Samsung” that say that the Galaxy S25 Edge delay was, as we suspected, a last-minute action. Beyond that, the publication says that the delay was due to “technical reasons” that “make further testing necessary.” It’s not clear what this may be, but it certainly sounds like a bigger deal than initial reporting made it sound. Reports out of Korea initially said directly that the delay was not due to “quality” issues.

While we don’t know what the issue is, the May or June release date leaves plenty of room for Samsung to fix even a rather large issue behind the scenes, whatever that may be.

In a separate report, WinFuture has also published pricing for the Galaxy S25 Edge in Europe. In Germany, the device will cost €1,249 for its 12GB/256GB variant, and €1,369 for the 12GB/512GB option. Those prices would go up by €10 in Spain and Italy, but that’s the ballpark for the device in the EU.

That puts the cost directly in the middle of Galaxy S25+ (€1,149) and Galaxy S25 Ultra (€1,349), meaning we can estimate the US cost at $1,149 if Samsung wants to split the difference between its $999 and $1,299 starting prices.
