Thanks to advancements in battery technology, bigger batteries are being found in smaller and thinner Android phones. An upcoming release from iQOO shows that perfectly, with a massive 7,300 mAh battery inside of a device thinner than Google’s Pixel 9.
It’s uncommon to find devices that have batteries bigger than around 5,000 mAh. In my mind at least, I usually associate anything larger with a power bank. But, slowly, we’re seeing those numbers go up. The OnePlus 13, for instance, has a 6,000 mAh battery in a frame no larger than its predecessor.
But the iQOO Z10 looks to really change how we think about smartphone battery sizes.
While it’s not been fully announced just yet, iQOO has been teasing the Z10’s release with the device set to have a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 under the hood, and also a 7,300 mAh battery in a rather thin design. iQOO teased this last week, but a new image of the device shared by Ishan Agarwal helps to put the profile of this phone into even better perspective.
Measuring in at 7.89mm, the iQOO Z10 is thinner than the Google Pixel 9 by a notable margin, with Google’s latest device and its 4,700 mAh battery inside measuring 8.5mm thick. For further context, the Z10 is just 0.02mm thicker than the iPhone 16 as well. Of course, the Z10 likely has a bigger display than both of those devices, but the difference in battery size remains impressive.

The full specs of the iQOO Z10 have yet to be revealed, but with other devices like the Oppo Find N5 and Tecno Spark Slim showing that thin designs don’t have to sacrifice battery life, it’s clear we’re entering a whole new world of battery sizes in smartphones.
