Google brings back the Pixel Weather map [U]

After introducing a search and view capability earlier this week, the Pixel Weather app has lost its 6-hour radar map as of Friday.

Update 4/2: As of Tuesday morning, Pixel Weather’s radar map is back with no obvious changes. This is a server-side fix and follows Google resolving the At a Glance bug yesterday.

Original 3/28: The Weather map shows a 6-hour precipitation forecast in the “US, UK and most EU countries excluding Italy and Luxembourg.”

Even if there’s no precipitation nearby, the card could still be tapped and opened to a fullscreen view. The map takes up most of your screen, with a 6-hour timeline at the bottom and play/pause button. This Weather map is powered by the same model behind Google Nowcast.

Like the other blocks, you can drag the map to your desired position.

As of today, people are no longer seeing the Pixel Weather map, with the card entirely missing from the city view. It’s gone from all locations, including those actively raining, so it’s presumably not a behavior change.

All the other blocks remain available, including: AI Weather Report, Hourly forecast, 10-day forecast, Precipitation, Wind, Sunrise & sunset, UV index, Air quality, Visibility, Humidity, and Pressure.

It’s missing as of version 1.0.20250127.729684887 of Pixel Weather, with a server-side change presumably playing a role. All Pixel phones and tablets are impacted.
