Samsung reportedly wants more third-party apps to work with One UI 7’s Now Bar

According to a new report, Samsung has plans to bring more third-party apps to the “Now Bar” in One UI 7.

The Now Bar launched alongside Samsung’s heavily delayed Android 15 update, One UI 7. We got our first real look at the feature with the Galaxy S25 series, where Samsung showed off “Now Brief,” an AI feature that surfaces useful content (or tries to, at least) as well as integration with several of its own apps and some Google apps such as Maps.

Now, Samsung is apparently looking to expand the feature.

ETNews reports that Samsung is looking at several more apps to be supported with the Now Bar, including some apps popular in South Korea such as Kakao T (a taxi app) and Naver Sports. Other apps mentioned in the report include Baedal Minjok, Kakao Navi, and Naver Map, with several others apparently in discussions. It’s reasonable to assume that Samsung would also be looking at more apps outside of South Korea, perhaps including things like Uber for international use.

Regardless of which apps Samsung plans to add, it’ll be a welcome change, as the selection is slim at the moment. The Now Bar is quite useful as a way to get quick information on the lock screen – much like Apple’s Live Activities – but it needs better third-party app integration to really become more useful.

What apps would you want to see added?
