Samsung’s more affordable Galaxy Z Flip FE to release ‘months’ after Flip 7

Samsung is set to release two new flip phone foldables this year, but the “Galaxy Z Flip FE” is reportedly launching “months” after the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

Per the company’s established schedule, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to debut around July 2025. Leaks have also revealed that the device will (probably) have a full-size cover display, akin to the Motorola Razr+.

But Samsung is apparently not going to have the Flip 7’s companion device ready for that same launch date. The Bell reports that Samsung’s Exynos division is still struggling to pin down a launch timeline for the Exynos 2500 chip that was rumored to be used in Flip 7. As such, attention on that chip has shifted to the “Galaxy Z Flip FE,” which the report adds is set to launch “months” after the Flip 7, leaving plenty of time for that Exynos chip to be ready.

It’s also mentioned that Samsung is trying to get Exynos 2600 ready in time for next year’s Galaxy S26 series.

Galaxy Z Flip 7 was previously expected to not use Snapdragon chips at all and instead fully rely on Exynos 2500, but this latest report suggests that plans may have changed.
