Telegram for Android now has Chromecast support for streaming videos on your TV

In its latest Android update, Telegram is adding support for watching videos of your TV via Chromecast (Google Cast) devices.

Revealed in its latest update changelog, Telegram says that Android users can now “cast videos straight to their Chromecast devices.” Previously, watching a video sent through Telegram on a Cast device would have required downloading the file and using alternate apps with Cast support.

Telegram explains:

Android users can now cast videos straight to their Chromecast devices — whether you’re watching memes with friends or presenting important content in a meeting, enjoy it all on the big screen!

Other updates include changes to “Telegram Stars” and the introduction of “Telegram Gateway,” an upgraded and even more cost-effective user verification program.
