Google launches Pixel Referral Program: $50 store credit, 10% discount [U]

The US Google Store is launching a Pixel Referral Rewards program: “Earn $50 in Google Store credit for each friend who buys a Pixel and they’ll get 10% off a Pixel phone.”

Update 2/5/25: Google this week sent out a “Refer a friend to Pixel. Get $50” email to more widely promote this Referral Program. If eligible, those in the US can access it directly here: store.google.com/referrals. Not everyone has access to the program today.

Original 12/23/24: You — the “Code Giver” — can share up to 10 referral codes and earn a maximum of $500 in Google Store credit from: store.google.com/referrals.

We learned about this Pixel Referral Program from the Google Store’s account menu (in the top-right corner), but Google’s landing page refers to an email (which we have yet to receive).

If you received an email to participate in the referral program, congrats! You’re in. If you did not, we plan to expand eligibility in the future.

The person that uses your code, or “Code Receiver,” gets a 10% “discount that can be applied to the highest value Pixel phone in their cart at the time of checkout.“ Each code can only be used once “and are no longer valid once applied at checkout.”

I wonder what they have in place to keep someone from giving a referral code to their spouse, or even worse, just a second email account. The spouse could be harder to restrict if there were two mailing addresses that could be used.

When you send or copy a code it will appear on store.google.com/referrals with the status. For example:

I thought you might like this great deal from Google Store’s Referral Program. Use code REF-52Q1T8IRMP5L9TFOWD34KEU at checkout! More details on the program can be found here: https://store.google.com/ideas/pixel-referrals

Notably, Google says this “discount can be combined with other offers, but can’t be used during certain peak times like Black Friday or new product launches.”

The Google Store credit will be added to your account “once the Code Receiver’s order has passed the return period, approximately 30 days after purchase.”

Google says this offer ends June 30, 2025.
