Samsung rolling out first Galaxy Watch update of 2025

Samsung is now rolling out the first Galaxy Watch update of 2025.

Samsung’s Galaxy Watch lineup went through a significant portion of 2024 without any updates as the company was waiting on its major One UI 6 Watch upgrade. 2025, thankfully, is starting off with an update right out of the gate.

Samsung is currently rolling out the R940XXU1BXL2 update to Galaxy Watch 6 in multiple regions, with the small update focusing solely on “stability and reliability” improvements. The same update is also available to Watch 6 Classic, and previously started rolling out for Galaxy Watch 7 last week.

There’s not a new security patch with this update, as users will find the same October 2024 patch that was first added with the One UI 6 Watch update in November.

Stability and reliability

  • The stability has been improved.

Users on Reddit note that the latest update has also replaced the design of the stress tile with new colors and the ability to show your stress level with words versus just the dial. Notification issues that some have reported do not appear to be fixed.

This update will likely make its way to other Galaxy Watch models over the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Samsung is putting its attention on the upcoming Unpacked event where the Galaxy S25 series will launch. Reservations for Samsung’s new flagship are open now for free with big potential savings.
