Following render leaks that showed off the design yesterday, another Pixel 9a leak reveals the dimensions of Google’s upcoming mid-range device as well as the four colors it might come in.
According to Android Headlines, Google will be adjust the size on the Pixel 9a very slightly. The updated device will be slightly taller and slightly wider, but also a bit thinner at 8.6mm. Compared to the 8a’s dimensions of 152.1 x 72.7 x 8.9 mm, Pixel 9a apparently measures 154 x 73 x 8.6mm.
Those dimensions shouldn’t mean much for the screen size, though it could theoretically be slightly larger. Battery size is more likely to be impacted by the thinner size, though the added height and width could help lessen any constraints on the battery.
More interesting from this report are the colors of Pixel 9a, which will include four options. Alongside the typical “Obsidian” and “Porcelain” which make up the black and white options, it’s said that Pixel 9a will also get a “Peony” pink color, akin to the Pixel 9’s pink option, while also adding “Iris,” a color that’s described as “bluish-purple.”
Google hasn’t made a purple phone since 2019’s Pixel 3a, which even then was barely purple – on purpose – in its “Purple-ish” color (pictured above).
Pixel 9a is expected to launch sometime in 2025 as the first of five new smartphones from Google set to release next year.
